Black Rock Trails (aka: Falls City) Updated: April 6, 5:18 am

The Blackrock trails are located in Dept. of Forestry land. The trail system is Oregon's first sanctioned freeride area. The trails have dirt jumps, ladder rides, drops, and jumps, log rides and a 12-13' cliff drop. It is a three mile climb with 1,300 ft. of elevation gain to the peak, but there are various trails to choose from on the climb up to make a shorter climb. There is constant trail maintenence & construction so please inspect stunts before riding. The stunts are moderately difficult depending on your skill level, however paths around each obstacle are provided for those who wish to skip a given section. The Blackrock Trails have almost 1000 acres of land we can build on. If you are interested in working on existing trail, or wish to found your own trail, please do not build without permission. There is a proceedure to follow:check out the Blackrock website for instructions. This land is for our use on a trial base and we will continue to have use of it as long as we respect it and the rules set out for its use.

Directions: First stop by Santiam Bicycle and get a trail map to help navigate the many trails. Head West on 22 out of Salem and drive into Dallas. Follow signs in Dallas to Falls City. Once in Falls City drive West on the main road through town. When you come to the bridge, do not cross it, turn right and continue up the hill. At the crest of the hill, turn left onto the dirt road and mark your odometer. You will follow the river three miles, crossing it once, and will turn right just past the "Camp Tapawingo" sign. Cross over the bridge and park on the right. Please read the signs at the parking area and please be respectful of the property. It is with the cooperation of Camp Tapawingo that we are allowed to ride here. Keep your music down and don't litter. Do not drive past the gate. Ride through/around the gate, past the field and take the middle road uphill. Keep riding uphill and do not go up roads marked private property. From this point, you will need a map, a guide, or a desire to explorer.
